Welcome at the Brendel group

We are an interdisciplinary research group working on the development and application of novel polymer materials. Our expertise ranges from the synthesis of reactive monomers to functional (block) copolymers and supramolecular structuring on different scales.

What do we do?

The focus of our work is the reactive assembly, directed structuring and functionalisation of polymer-based materials on the nano- and mesoscale (< 1 µm). We are investigating a wide variety of concepts, processes and applications for this purpose, for example:

• Development of new reactive monomers
• Redox-active / conductive polymers
• Self-assembly of polymers
• Supramolecular structuring
• Reactive printing processes
• Interaction with cells and tissue
